The Atlas 2.0 is on its way!
Wiley-Blackwell announces that e-books are already available for sale in some parts of the world on their website and on amazon.
The print version is scheduled to be available in Singapore at the end of August, in Europe on September 11, and in North America on October 2.
Sounds like the stork is on its way :-).
Dear Dr. Marc-André d’Anjou
Thank you very much for your e-mail news letter about the “New post on Small Animal Ultrasonography”
I am pleased to take a look inside Atlas 2.0. Let me tell you something about the new edition.
In the following adress, I find some quotations which need to be corrected in the Atlas of Small Animal Ultrasonography, Second Edition, ABDOMINAL CAVITY, LYMPH NODES, AND GREAT VESSELS, pp 473
https://books.google.co.kr/books?id=8QhQCgAAQBAJ&pg=PA473&lpg=PA473&dq=RI+%3E0.65+and+PI+%3E1.45+are+reported+to+indicate+malignancy+(Nyman+at+al.+2005),+whereas+values+of+0.67+and+0.76+for+RI,+and+1.02+and+1.23+for+PI,+are+associated+with+malignant+jejunal+and+medial+iliac+lymph+nodes,+respectively+(Prieto+et+al.+2009)&source=bl&ots=T982oM4td3&sig=EW5pU06-VH0fXn_PeayY09dqo6c&hl=ko&sa=X&ved=0CB8Q6AEwAGoVChMIloidusy1xwIViKWUCh2AbQMR#v=onepage&q=RI%20%3E0.65%20and%20PI%20%3E1.45%20are%20reported%20to%20indicate%20malignancy%20(Nyman%20at%20al.%202005)%2C%20whereas%20values%20of%200.67%20and%200.76%20for%20RI%2C%20and%201.02%20and%201.23%20for%20PI%2C%20are%20associated%20with%20malignant%20jejunal%20and%20medial%20iliac%20lymph%20nodes%2C%20respectively%20(Prieto%20et%20al.%202009)&f=false
According to the second edition,
For superficial lymph nodes in dogs, RI >0.65 and PI >1.45 are reported to indicate malignancy (Nyman at al. 2005), whereas values of 0.67 and 0.76 for RI, and 1.02 and 1.23 for PI, are associated with malignant jejunal and medial iliac lymph nodes, respectively (Pierto at al. 2009)
But Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound, Vol. 50, No. 5, 2009, pp 525–529 explains,
PATHOLOGIC CORRELATION OF RESISTIVE AND PULSATILITY INDICES IN CANINE ABDOMINAL LYMPH NODES, SAUL PRIETO et al.,
Values higher than 0.67 for the RI and 1.02 for the PI in medial iliac lymph nodes and higher than 0.76 for the RI and 1.23 for the PI in mesenteric lymph nodes had a high sensitivity and specificity for differentiating benign from neoplastic lymph nodes. from Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound, Vol. 50, No. 5, 2009, pp 525–.529.
Thank you very much again for your kind e-mail news letter.
